Delida P. Viccari, 90

Mrs. Delida P. Viccari formerly of Ellwood City, passed away on January 4th, 2024 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Delida was born on August 4th, 1933 in New Castle to the late Domenic and Catherine (Adamo) Tommelleo. She graduated from New Castle High School and then from St. Francis nursing school. Delida went on to become a registered nurse, working in the maternity ward of Mary Evan’s Hospital and later at St. Francis Hospital. She was a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church and Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers. She was a “pet-lover” and liked to crochet. Delida was known for her passion of cooking, especially potato rolls, and she also enjoyed teaching others to cook as well, more specifically her good friend, Mary. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Ken) Gilchrist of Strongsville, OH, and Jeanmarie (Fred Peluso) Delisio of Neshannock, grandchildren, Tricia Aviles, Lindsay (Christopher) Svancara, Kielly Jo (Matt) Rapp, Joey Marie (Charlie) Koulianos, great grandchildren, Ezra, Evangeline and Eero Aviles, Aubrey Rapp, Dominic Svancara, Markella, Fotious, and Anna Koulianos, step-great-grandchildren, Maverick, Annabell, and Evelyn, sisters-in-law, Saundra Viccari, Rosie Moser, Donna Rickert, and Mary Ann Viccari, brother-in-law, Donald Viccari , her beloved dog, Zoe, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank V. Viccari whom she married on April 30th, 1933 and passed away on March 3rd, 2020, son-in-law, Joseph Delisio, sister, Jean Rainey, brother, Ralph Tommelleo, sisters-in-law, Elizabeth LaCava, Antoinette Poerio, Mary Fabian, Viola Mine, Jean Cummings, Patty Viccari and Dora Tommelleo, and brothers-in-law, Domenic, Nicholas “Bobby”, Phillip, Patrick, Anthony, and Ralph Viccari.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10th, 2023 from 3-7 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, January 11th at 10:00 am at Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church. Christian Mothers are asked to be at the church at 9:50 am to form an honor guard.
