Joanne Scala, 69, of Ellport, passed away in her residence on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.
Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Joanne was the daughter of the late Robert & Beverly Goode. She married David Scala on June 28, 1980. Joanne retired from Anchor Hocking as a process auditor. She was a member of Divine Grace Parish. Joanne enjoyed cooking and baking, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandson.
Joanne is survived by her husband of forty-three years, David Scala, her two daughters, Cathie & Shawn Bender of Ellwood City and Christine & Craig Ventrosco of Myrtle Beach, SC, five grandchildren, Brooke (Shawn McNamara) Kroll, Joshua (Taylor Gulish) Bender, Robert Walters, Krystal Ventrosco and Brayden Yerkins, a great-grandson, Peyton Crowe, two sisters, Gwenda & Carl Kaszer and Beatrice Beasley, both of Clarksville, TN, two brothers, Ernie Javens of Beaver Falls and Terry Storar of Jenks, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by two sisters, Dottie Mae Goode and Freda Goode and six brothers, Robert Showalter, Willie Goode, Jack Javens, Harvey Javens, Kevin Goode and Larry Storar.
Friends will be received on Monday, January 1, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 2nd at 11:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Church with Fr. Joseph Freedy. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
