Joseph R. DeSanzo Jr., 61, of Ellwood City passed away on Monday, May 15th, 2023 at the UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Joseph was born in Ellwood City on October 28th, 1961 to Joseph R. and Shaleen “Shelly” (Morgan) DeSanzo. He is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1979, and the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church. A police officer, Joe had worked as a patrolman for the Perry Twp. Police Department, Zelienople Police Department with the rank of Sergeant, and the Butler County Drug Task Force. He is a past president of both the Butler County Fraternal Order of Police and the Riverside High School Football Boosters.
Joe is survived by his mother Shelly, sons Christopher Ryan DeSanzo of Franklin Twp., Joseph W. (Randi) DeSanzo of Ellwood City, and Jonathan DeSanzo of North Sewickley Twp., grandchildren, Braden, Caleb, Ethan, Maddyn, Dante DeSanzo, and Ivy Hammerly, sister Jodi (Brian) Damon of Philadelphia, and brother Joseph (Diana) Pfiefer of New Brighton.
He was preceded in death by his father Joseph R. DeSanzo Sr.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 18th, 2023 from 1:00 pm until the time of the Blessing Service at 5:00 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. with Father Mark Thomas officiating.
