Elizabeth “Betty” Hulick, 92

Elizabeth “Betty” Hulick, 92, of Ellwood City, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Trinity Oaks.

Born in West Aliquippa on May 3, 1931, Betty was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Palazzi Lise. Betty married her beloved husband, George “Skip” Hulick on May 8, 1954 and they enjoyed fifty-eight years together until he preceded her in death in January of 2013. Betty worked at the First Street Bakery in Ellwood, Mine Safety Appliance and later as a luggage inspector at Airway Luggage. She was a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking, taking fishing trips with her husband and friends and she also enjoyed her Thursday morning breakfast gathering. But most of all, Betty loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her son, David (Connie) Hulick of Eufaula, OK, her daughter, Mary Ann (James) Cortez of Ellwood City, a sister, Philomena Mantle of Arizona, six grandchildren; David (Maria) Hulick, Jennifer (David) Zinkham, Lacey Pettingill, Kara Pettingill, Eric (Sarah) Cortez and Jay (Katelyn) Cortez, twelve great-grandchildren; Leila Hulick, Leif Hulick, Chance Zinkham, Zoe Zinkham, Alyvia Hutson, Dax Lenard, Brodie Lenard, Benjamin Cortez, Elise Cortez, Henry Cortez, Wren Cortez and Iris Cortez and one great-great granddaughter, Hadlee Hanes.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Betty was preceded in death by three brothers; William (Helen) Lise, James Lise and Ralph (Norma) Lise and three sisters; Flora (Anthony) Ludwico, Ann (Ralph) Rubino and Josephine (Joseph) George and a brother-in-law, Roger Mantle.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 9th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 10th at 10:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Church. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Betty’s family would like to thank the staff at Trinity Oaks Personal Care Home and AHN Hospice for the excellent care given to Betty.
