John “Jack” Charles Hunter, 79

Mr. John “Jack” Charles Hunter, 79, of Franklin Township (Frisco) passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24th, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family, from an extended illness.

Mr. Hunter was born on December 9th, 1943 and raised in Hadley, PA the son of the late John H. and Hazel (Smock) Hunter. He had graduated from the Leechburg High School. By trade he drove truck for 40+ years traveling through the country which he loved, ultimately retiring from Yellow Freight settling in Colorado for 13 years before moving to Ellwood City and residing there for 16 years. Jack was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, and former member and president of the Wampum Rod and Gun Club. He had a love for the great outdoors and animals.

He is survived by his wife Dianna L. (Crissman) Hunter whom he married on January 21st, 1989, children Christopher (Kathryn) Hunter of Clearwater, FL, Lisa (Bruce) Novak of Indiana, PA, and Jackie (John) Zachar of Leechburg, PA, stepchildren Mark (Connie) Wagle of New Brighton, PA, Julie (Christopher) Collins of West Jefferson, OH, and Danny (Stacie) Wagle of Millikan, CO, grandchildren Nathan, Ethan, and Kaleb Hunter of Clearwater, FL, Alissa, Alura, and Jordan Novak of Indiana, PA, Stephanie (Jared) Lackovich of New Brighton, PA, Brittanie (Justin) Marshall of Florida, Jennifer (Stephen) Inman of New Brighton, PA, Bethanie (Steve) Tilley of Powell, OH, Ashelei Wagle of Millikan, CO, and Ethan Klay of West Jefferson, OH, and great-grandchildren Liam, Harper, Kaitlyn, Nolan, Noah, and Audrey. He is also survived by his sisters Sandy (Lyle) Austin of Florida, Judy Nichols of Colorado, and Gayle Kurtz of Colorado, several aunts, uncles, cousins, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and his two special pups of 13 years Molly and Nugget.

The family would like to thank AHN Hospice for all their compassion and professionalism during the past 4 months.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3rd, 2023 from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 5:00 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. with Rev. Matthew Bupp officiating.
