Ellwood City junior high wrestlers Brayden McClure (87-pound class) and Cheyenne Berglund (94-pound class) each placed fourth for the Wolverines in a 23-team wrestling tournament held last weekend.
The team competed in the Indiana (PA) Eagles/Good & Associates Tournament on Saturday, January 14th.
McClure and Berglund each reached the 3rd place match in their respective weight class in the tournament. McClure finished with a 4-2 record while Berglund finished with a 2-2 record.
After a three match winning streak, the 87-pound McClure was felled by Aiden Thompson of Cranberry Area. Berglund collected her two victories by fall and decision before succumbing to Cael Dorman of Central Mountain.
McClure finished 3rd overall at the Junior High MAC Wresting Tournament earlier this month.
The junior varsity and varsity wrestling team travels to Knoch HS on Wednesday for its next match prior to a Mercer VFW Tournament scheduled to commence this weekend.
