Ellwood City Area School District Hall of Fame Announces Inaugural Class

The Ellwood City Area School District Hall of Fame Committee is unveiling a new Hall of Fame to celebrate the professional achievements and athletic accomplishments of Lincoln Jr/Sr High School alumni.

The Hall of Fame Committee was established this year with the mission to honor and recognize those individuals and teams associated with Lincoln High School who have experienced significant accomplishments in their chosen sport and/or field. These individuals have brought distinction, honor and excellence to Lincoln Jr./Sr. High School and Ellwood City Area School District by their accomplishments on and off the field.

Committee President, Tom Natale said, “There are many worthy individuals who have been great representatives of our school. It’s time we recognize them. The Hall of Fame is a perfect way to recognize them and thank these alumni.”

The first class will be honored on December 9, 2022, during the halftime of the boys’ basketball game against Hopewell. The game will be played in the Lincoln Big Gym and will begin at 7:30 PM.

The following individuals will be inducted as part of this first class:

  • *Dan Aloi, Class of 1987 (Athletics)
  • *Doneen Aloi-McDowell, Class of 1989 (Distinguished Alumni)
  • *Dale Brown, Class of 1953 (Athletics)
  • Bishop Edward Burns, Class of 1975 (Distinguished Alumni)
  • *David Costa, Class of 1996 (Athletics)
  • *Susan Fox, Class of 1984 (Distinguished Alumni)
  • Dr. Jeffery Hangst, Class of 1975 (Distinguished Alumni)
  • Donnie Iris, Class of 1961 (Distinguished Alumni)
  • *Charles Landolfi, Class of 1965 (Athletics)
  • *Dr. Nicholas Neupauer, Class of 1985 (Distinguished Alumni)
  • Tom MacMurdo, Class of 1926 (Athletics)
  • *Annie Malkowiak, Class of 1989 (Athletics)
  • Steve Peffer, Class of 1991 (Distinguished Alumni)
  • *Taylor Petrak, Class of 2017 (Athletics)
  • Sandra Sulia-Mcanallen, Class of 1968 (Distinguished Alumni)
  • *Tonya Sulia-Goodman, Class of 1990 (Distinguished Alumni)
  • *Damon Thompson, Class of 1990 (Athletics)
  • Wayne Thornhill, Class of 1968 (Athletics)
  • *Chief Justice Debra Todd, Class of 1975 (Distinguished Alumni)
  • *Jake Walker, Class of 2006 (Athletics)

Members who will be attending or represented by family members at the ceremony are indicated with a *star.

“We are pleased to honor those who have brought honor to Lincoln. I’m so excited to demonstrate how our students have impacted the world in such positive ways,” adds Superintendent, Wes Shipley.

New members will be inducted annually moving forward. The general public will be able to nominate any athlete or distinguished alumni when nominations open for the 2023 class. Nomination forms will be available on the Ellwood City Area School District Website or you can contact the district office for a nomination form when the nomination window is open. Nominees must have graduated five years prior to their inclusion in the
Hall of Fame.
