Riverside Panther standout student-athlete Samantha Rosenberger has officially signed her letter of intent to play Division II softball with Barry University, in Miami, Florida.
Rosenberger has received a full academic and athletic scholarship and is pictured signing her paperwork last Friday, November 18th at Riverside High School
Rosenberger is a 1B/LHP senior captain for the Lady Panthers Varsity Softball team. She received the Offensive Award for Riverside softball last year as a junior and was named a player of the week with the Beaver County Times after the left hander tallied 12 strikeouts in a complete game loss.
This past summer, Rosenberger led her travel team, Team Pennsylvania, in ERA (1.448), WHIP (0.802), and Opponent Batting Average (.132).
Rosenberger also carries a 3.7 GPA 3.7 and is a member of the recycling club, student council treasurer, and student body president. She plans to study Marine Biology while at Barry University.
“Barry University is the perfect fit for my major and I’m am really excited to to play at such a high level of competition. It’s crazy how fast it happened, but it was definitely meant to be,” says Rosenberger.
Rosenberger had made her official visit to Barry in October and was able to spend time with the coaching staff and softball team.
“Since Barry University is Division II, I was allowed to practice a day with the team, which was an amazing experience,” says Rosenberger. “After spending the weekend with the coaches and team, I know it’s the perfect fit for me both academically and athletically.”
The senior is now looking forward to improving her game during her senior year at Riverside this spring.
“I’m focusing on training to become stronger and in overall better shape. After participating in the camp in August in the Florida heat, I am trying to do everything I can to help prepare myself for that.”
“My senior year is the perfect opportunity to really fine tune my skills,” concludes Rosenberger.
