‘Let There Be Lights’ Weekend Of Events Start Friday

Kick off your Holiday’s with a series of events hosted by the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce.

First, on Friday, downtown will light up with the lighting of the holiday tree in the Ellwood City Community plaza at 7:30 p.m. as part of Ellwood City’s Light Up Night.

Live entertainment will take place from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the plaza and on Lawrence Avenue and fireworks will be set off behind the plaza after the tree lighting! Vendors of all kinds will be set up from 4th street through 6th street, along with horse drawn carriage rides from Misty Lane Farms. [VIEW 2021 PHOTOS]

At 6:30 p.m. on Friday, two separate entertainment events will wow those in attendance. The Riverside Chamber Choir will perform at the Historical Society Building and Dance Expressions will perform at the PNC Bank drive-thru.

Tony’s Beer Distributor will make the announcement of the $500.00 cash prize winner of the Elf-on-the-Shelf scavenger hunt, hosted by the Ellwood City Chamber on Small Business Saturday.

On Saturday, the Chamber hosts a Ugly Sweater 5K Fun Run in Ewing Park. Runners will ‘take their mark’ at 9:00 a.m. near Helling Stadium [Joffre Street starting point – Ewing Park – Ellwood City, PA]. All participants will receive a long-sleeve tech shirt, and finisher medal!

Also on Saturday, Ellwood City will host its annual Christmas Parade beginning at 3:30 p.m. that stretches the downtown blocks of Lawrence Avenue.

Saturday also kicks off the Ellwood City Christmas in the Park drive-thru light exhibit that remains open nightly, starting December 3rd-December 23rd from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. [Closed Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.] Ewing Park’s drive-thru light display is a Holiday tradition for our community, featuring different themed nights, food trucks, meetings and pictures with Santa!
