John B. Kati, 95

John B. Kati, 95, of Zelienople passed away at Avalon Nursing Center on Monday, September 19, 2022.

Born in Zelienople on December 12, 1926, John was the son of the late Charles and Emma Lorenz Kati. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Esther Cortez.  John had retired from Halstead and Mitchell where he worked as a crane operator.  He was a member of Divine Grace Parish, St Gregory Church.  John was a veteran of the Army serving in the Pacific in World War II.  He was a member of the Zelienople Hungarian Club, American Legion Post 474 and the Zelienople-Harmony Sportsman’s Club.  An avid Steeler and Pirate fan, John also enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed playing bingo with his wife.

John is survived by his 2 daughters, Sherry (Tracy) Mulhollen and Janet (Bruce) Patrick, both of Ellwood City and 3 grandsons, Cody Patrick, Christopher (Kim) Mulhollen and Scott Mulhollen.

Besides his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Rose and Julie and 5 brothers, Eugene, Charlie, Joseph, David and Bill.

Entombment was in Zelienople Mausoleum.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.
