Gerald A. Goehring, 70

Gerald A. Goehring, 70 of Fombell passed away at UPMC Passavant McCandless on Thursday, September 1, 2022.

Born in New Brighton on March 25, 1952, Gerald was the son of the late Arthur and Lillian Ruth Young Goehring.  He is survived by his wife, the former Susan C. Stunkard, whom he married on October 20, 1979.  Gerald was a Riverside class of 1970 graduate.  He retired from Westmorland Electric as an electrician, but was more recently employed at the Riverside Area School District.  He enjoyed not only hunting, but just being outdoors.

Besides his wife Susie, Gerald is survived by three daughters: Christine (Caleb) O’Brien of Fredonia, Catherine (Justin) Inman of Hill Air Force Base, Utah, Kimberly (Lance) Holler of Fombell, six grandchildren: Maggie and Theron O’Brien, Parker and Charley Inman, Natalie and Liam Holler, his brothers and sister: Robert (Barb) Goehring of New Brighton, Marnietta “Sis” DeGroff of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, and Donald (Lynne) Goehring of Fombell, along with several nieces and nephews and many cousins. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Lily.

In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his in-laws, Robert and Irene Stunkard, a brother-in-law, Darwin DeGroff and two nephews: Steve Stunkard and Robert Goehring, Jr.

Per Gerald’s wishes, there will be no services.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport.

  2. Susie. Sorry to hear about Jerry. I will always remember he would do anything to help and he could do everything. And talk, he could out talk the best of them. He was funny. Susie praying for you and the girls for God’s peace.
