William A. “Bill” Bubb, Jr., 88, of Wayne Township, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at AHN Wexford Hospital.
Born in Ellwood City on June 28, 1934, Bill was the son of the late William and Dorothy DiBell Bubb. He married the former Phyllis Richt on December 31, 1955. Bill retired from the US Postal Service in 1996. A Veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War, Bill enjoyed farming, riding his tractor, reading and playing with his great-grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis Bubb, a son, William (Nikkie) Bubb III, of New Castle, a daughter, Judith (Donald) Smith of Ellwood City, a son-in-law, J.D. Fountain of Ellwood City, eight grandchildren: William (Echo) Bubb, Joshua (Misty) Fountain, Robert Fountain, Donald (Stephanie) Smith, Liz (Brandon) Scobie, Jolene Smith and Sara Bubb, 9 great-grandchildren: Cameron, Lucas and Lily Smith, Carson, Kayden and Blake Scobie, Xadrian and Savannah Fountain and Riley Festog, a sister, Pat Schlegel and two brothers, Robert Bubb of Ellwood City and Paul Bubb of Utica, PA.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a daughter, Kandy Fountain, a son, Ron “Ralph” Bubb, a granddaughter, Stephanie Bubb, six sisters and two brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 5th at 11:00 AM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport with Pastor Scott Carney of Providence Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Wurtemburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Bill’s family suggests memorial contributions can be made in his name to any animal rescue.
