Mike Yuricha, 90

Mike Yuricha, 90, of Ellport passed away at the Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle on Thursday, June 23, 2022.

Born in Koppel on November 5, 1931, Mike was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Bon Yuricha.  He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Cesarini.  They were married on July 12, 1952.  Mike was retired from the Ellwood Works of U.S. Steel and was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish and SNPJ.  A handyman, Mike enjoyed working on cars or any of his childrens’ projects.  He liked to take care of his yard and his garden and was a fan of westerns and polka music.  Mike enjoyed woodworking, especially making crosses and giving them to family and friends.  During the Christmas season he loved dressing as Santa for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides his wife Helen Yuricha at home, Mike is survived by his 4 children, Carole Viccari of Ellport, Marie (John) Duncan of Plain Grove, Michael (Sandy) Yuricha of Perry Township and Carla (Tom) Wehman of Fombell, 9 grandchildren, Damian (Jessica) Viccari, Nicole (Kevin) Saunders, Jesse Duncan, Nicholas (Kira) Duncan, Justin Yuricha, Kelly Yuricha, Ryan Wehman, Tyler Wehman and Katelyn Wehman, 6 great grandchildren, Victoria, Jackson and Gia Viccari and Isabella, Liam and Charlie Saunders.

Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Frank, John and Steve Yuricha.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Mike at Holy Redeemer Church on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 12 Noon by Fr. Mark Thomas.  Entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Family suggests contributions can be made in Mike’s name to Ellwood Area Public Library or Holy Redeemer Social Services.

The family would like thank the AHN Hospice Care and the Haven Convalescent Home for their continued excellent care of Mike.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory.
