Lawrence County CTC Unveiling Replica Trolley On Tuesday

The Lawrence County Career and Technical Center (LCCTC) is unveiling a replica of the original 1908 Harmony Short Line Trolley on Tuesday, May 24th at 1:00 p.m.

The festivities will include staff and students.

The trolley replica, manufactured at LCCTC for the Ellwood City Area Historical Society, will then move to Ellwood City, to be used by the Historical Society.

An original plan to find an original trolley and repair into roadworthy condition to be used in parades and special events failed in 2019 when it was found beyond repair which led to the collaboration effort between the Historical Society and LCCTC students.

According to the LCCTC website, for two years the students have been hard at work custom fabricating this amazing project and couldn’t be more excited to send it out into our community.

The project was commissioned by the Ellwood City Area Historical Society.

The trolley will be used for tours, festivals winter Christmas rides, and as a part car according to Everett Bleakney, President of the Historical Society.

As the unveiling nears, the Lawrence County CTC is releasing promo videos of students who worked on the trolley. For more information on LCCTC, please visit www.lcctceagles.com and more all their videos, please visit the LCCTC YouTube.com Channel
