Isabella Costa, 101

Mrs. Isabella Costa, 101, of Wayne Township passed away on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 at Quality of Life in New Castle.

Mrs. Costa was born on July 25th, 1921 in Perry Twp. to the late Frank and Lizana (Innocent) D’Ambrosia, Sr.. She had worked at the U.S. Steel Plant in Ellwood City during World War II. She is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish and the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers. She loved the Blessed Mother, her children, grandchildren, cooking amazing Italian Sunday dinners, and loved her beautiful garden which she maintained for 100 years. She will be dearly missed by her family, but we will celebrate a life well lived and all the wonderful memories we have had with her.

She is survived by her daughters, Florence (Joseph) Santillo and Mary (Anthony) DeCaria both of Wayne Twp., son, Ronin F. Costa of Pittsburgh, daughter-in-law, Debra Costa of Wayne Twp., grandchildren, Traci Cortez, Corri (Danko) Pike, Marrissa (Frank) Sniezek, Anthony DeCaria (Ashley McCullough), Nikki DeCaria (Ray Weber), Geena DeCaria (Domenic Guerrini) Mia DeCaria, Landon (Jessica) Costa, Samuel (Amanda) Costa, Daniel Thompson Costa, and Ana Thompson Costa, great-grandchildren, Joey Cortez, Cami Cortez, Giana Pike, Theo Costa, Julian DeCaria, Giavanna Guerrini, Apollo DeCaria, and Amelia Weber. She is also survived by her sister, Louise Paglia of Hermitage, brother, Frank (Mable) D’Ambrosio of Ellwood City, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Isabella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas P. Costa, Sr. whom she married on January 31st, 1946 and passed away on January 5th, 2010, sons, Samuel Costa and Thomas Costa Jr., sisters, Jennie Cortese, Theresa Robertson, Mary Morini, and Lille Bernabe, brothers, Fred, Anthony, Guy Idona, Domenic, Angelo, Alfonso, Emmett D’Ambrosio, and great-grandson, Luca Costa.

A private family visitation will be held at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. Family and friends are invited to a mass of Christian burial to be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Members of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church on Tuesday by 9:50 am to form an honor guard.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Costa’s name may be made to the Holy Redeemer Angel Fund, Social Services.
