Beaver County Announces 2022 Hazardous Waste Collection Date

Safely dispose of common household chemicals and take advantage of the Beaver County Hazardous Waste Collection event that is scheduled for Saturday, April 30, 2022.

The collection takes place at Bradys Run Park Recycling Center in Brighton Township and is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  A $20.00 fee covers disposal up to 10 gallons/50 pounds of the following materials:

Aerosol cans,  automotive fluids, motor oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze, brake fluid, batteries, camp fuel/small propane bottles, chemistry sets,  compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs), electronic cigarettes, gasoline and kerosene, household cleaners, ammonia, drain openers, acid cleaners, oven cleaners, mercury thermometers, paint products, latex, oil based, alkyd based, arts/crafts chemicals, rust preservatives, creosote, water sealers, paint thinners, furniture strippers,  pesticides/herbicides, rodent killers, insecticides, weed killers, mothballs, fertilizer, photo chemicals, pool chemicals, and smoke detectors.

Oversized loads will be subject to additional charges at the discretion of on-site staff.

ADDITIONAL FEES: $12 per fire extinguisher; $15 per pound of liquid mercury.

Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) accepts all forms of payment.  Place all items in car trunk/truck bed.  PRC follows all federal/state/local health and safety guidelines. Visit www.prce.org/HHWregistration for details.

ALSO: The Beaver County Department of Sustainability and Waste Management will also be hosting monthly shredding events at Brady’s Run Park Recycling Center from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the following dates: April 20, May18, June 15, July 20, August 17, and September 21, 2022.  Shredding is FREE and open to Beaver County residents and employees. Confidential shredding provided for personal documents by removal of all binder clips, plastic, and metal bindings. 3-4 banker boxes per customer to keep the line moving, additional amounts may be declined. No businesses permitted, due to time elements.
