Ellwood City boys basketball has earned a spot in the PIAA Basketball Championships and will be pitted against one of the top ranked Class-3A teams on Wednesday.
The Wolverines (21-3) will travel for their opening round match-up and face the District 10 champion Franklin Knights (23-2) at 7:00 p.m. at Franklin High School.

Once you are on the PIAA website follow these instructions:
- Click Purchase Championship Tickets (in the right hand corner of the screen)
- Click Basketball
- Scroll down to bottom of screen and click Boys Basketball
- Click 3A
- Find the Franklin vs. Ellwood City game and then click Get Tickets

The address for Wednesday’s game is at Franklin High School, 246 Pone Lane, Franklin, PA 16323.
Knights senior Easton Fulmer, who averages 21.5 points per game, scored a game-high 33 points, including a perfect 13-for-13 in free throws to help Franklin pull away for a 63-53 win in its D-10 Class 3A championship game.
The match-up on Wednesday is the only Class-3A first round game that features two teams with 20+ victories on its season. Four other WPIAL (District 7) teams join the fray with Aliquippa (17-8) facing Brookville, Avonworth (18-7) facing Cambria Heights, Neshannock (18-5) facing Richland, and Shady Side Academy (19-6) facing Penns Valley.
