Evelyn C. Carrozza, 99

Mrs. Evelyn C. Carrozza, 99, of Ellwood City passed away on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 at the Quality Life Services in New Castle.

Mrs. Carrozza was born on December 10, 1921 in Ellwood City to the late Samuel and Marie (Rozzi) Pezzi. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1939. Evelyn was an active member of the Holy Redeemer Church, belonging to the Christian Mothers, Golden Agers, and volunteering for the annual church bazaar. She also is one of the “Original Pizza Ladies” and a long time volunteer at the Holy Redeemer School cafeteria and the Ellwood City Arts Crafts and Food Festival with the Ellwood City Wolves Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol A. Spaulding, her son, Michael F. Carrozza of Ellwood City, her granddaughter, Kelly Kearns, her great-grandchild, Alexander Kearns, and her sister, Clara Melchiorre of New Castle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Michael D. Carrozza whom she married on September 9, 1948 and passed away on September 25, 1990, her sisters, Mary Bucelli, Rose Carone, Vernie Geary, and Lillian Bellissimo, and her brothers, John, Charles, Louis, and Frank Pezzi, and her son Michael’s partner Helen Barberio.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church with Father David Egan officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
