POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY:

According to PA State Police, during the overnight hours between March 13 and March 14, a burglary took place in Perry Township. It was reported between 9pm on Saturday and 10:00am on Sunday, March 14th an unknown forced entry into a garage on Van Gorder Mill Road and stole several items. Some of the items taken from the garage include a chainsaw, several chains, rigid power tools, excaliber crossbow, quad winch and other miscellaneous tools. Any information related to this incident can be forwarded to the PA State Police New Castle Barracks.

CRUELTY TO ANIMALS:

According to a Public Information Release Report, on March 13 a report of animal cruelty took place in Scott Township, Lawrence County. According to the report, police invesigated a Dog Law Violation on Patterson Road, Scott Township and determined that two dogs attacked a victim and the victim’s dog. One of the dogs was shot when lunging at the victim.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:

According to a report, a male from New Castle was arrested for criminal tresspassing and PFA violation on March 22 at approximately 4:30 a.m. PA State Police responded to an address on Algoma Lane, Hickory Township, Lawrence County and arrested and placed E.J. Perrine, 33, into custody. Property damages included sliding door valued at $1,525.00

ASSAULT & PFA ORDER VIOLATION:

According to a report from District Justice Jerry G. Cartwright, a 31-year-old male from Ellwood City was among three arrested for simple assault after an incident on March 24.

According to the report, at approximately 10:45 p.m. New Castle police responded to a report of a possible PFA Order violation at a residence in Little Beaver Township, Lawrence County. Upon further investigation, it was determined the violation had occured, in addition to a separate simple assault incident at the same resident.  Henry Lawren Grannis, Jr., of Ellwood City, is charged with the violation of a PFA Order while David Black, 37, of New Castle, and Bradley Williams, 33, of New Castle will both be charged with separate simple assault.  Charges will be filed through District Judge Cartwright 53-3-01 offices.
