Ellwood City Historical Society Continues Fund Drive

The Ellwood City Area Historical Society needs your help to continue, and expand, its goals to PRESERVE – PROMOTE – PERPETUATE history in Ellwood City.

In a press release made available, the Historical Society celebrated their Founders Day – November 9, 1987 –  and continues to ask for donations toward their annual drive

Thirty-three years ago and still going strong – what does that mean to you? I know it is hard to remember dates and times; birthdays, universes, graduation, and other important times. This date is important to to the History of Ellwood City. On this day [November 9] the founding members had its organizational meeting to form the Historical Society. The purpose being; to preserve local history, and to share our heritage with future generations. The Society signed up 0 members that night and the state corporation was obtained February 1988. The Historical Society was part of our community.

When we look over the previous 33 years (1987 to 2020), a lot of local and wordly things have happened in our lives. What are your memories? I am sure that some of us have good, bad or even sad memories. Maybe if you are like me, I have a hard time remembering things that happened yesterday, yet even a week ago. This is what the makes the Historical Society so important to our community and to the memories of our lives. The Society collects and preserves a lot of memories through pictures, stories, artifacts, oral histories, and memorabilia.

To maintain a museum, evaluate buildings for historical identification, renovate the trolley, focus on displays, provide extra exhibits, catalog and preserve artifacts – the historical society needs your help!

The Society is alive and well but as in the past we always need your help to maintain the museum and the special work of cataloging our artifacts. I am asking to HELP US again this year. You have been very generous in the past and we THANK YOU!!! Your generosity is very much appreciated, keep us strong for another 33 years.

Contact the Historical Society for a membership form and join, for as little as $10.00 for an individual membership. View more, www.ellwoodhistory.org

Thank you,
Andrew Kindle
