Annual Ellwood City Halloween Parade Cancelled

The annual Ellwood City Halloween Parade was cancelled per a social media posting this week by the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce and its Ellwood City Parades account.

According to the post, “We are sorry to announce that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Halloween Parade has been CANCELLED. This decision was not an easy one however our continued concern for the health and well-being of the community is our number one priority. We thank you for your understanding during these uncertain times and look forward to celebrating again in 2021.”

In August, the Chamber announced the postponement of their annual golf outing and the annual Fall Fest and Car Cruise until 2021 due to Covid-19 mandates and the continued concern for the health and wellbeing of the chamber membership and community.

Notable remaining 2020 events hosted by the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce include the Annual Chef, Wine & Ale Event (November 9), Let There Be Lights Weekend (December 4), and Christmas Parade (December 5).

Ellwood City Trick or Treat remains scheduled for Saturday, October 31st, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the borough. The mayor urges all pedestrians and motorists to use extreme caution and is hoping for a safe and fun-filled night for the children. EVERYONE IS ASKED TO USE EXTREME CAUTION!

  1. So, we can’t stand on the side of the road, socially distanced, and watch a parade, but we can congregate at Helling stadium to watch our kids pile on and tackle each other?
Let’s all go drink at the bar instead.
