The Yellow Ribbon Girls is looking for your support to provide Christmas treasures and supplies to deployed troops this upcoming holiday season.
The campaign, named “Please Help Save Christmas For Our Deployed Troops!”, aims to ship between 150 and 200 Christmas packages full of decorations, holiday treats, basic supplies and gifts.
The postage on last year’s 300 X-Large Christmas care packages was $14,000.00. Sadly, in 2020 almost all of the fundraising opportunities have been postponed or canceled.
As hard as 2020 as been on all of us at home, the Yellow Ribbon Girls remind us that these same restrictions and more have been placed on our deployed troops. There are no extra activities, gyms are closed, no one has been able to come home for R&R, they are living in temperatures up to 120 degrees, and, many USOs are closed or operating on very limited schedules. Deployed troops NEED to know they are NOT being forgotten back here at home.
The Yellow Ribbon Girls will create and ship the BIG boxes of Christmas treasures in early November. The sooner we know how many of our soldiers are adopted, the sooner we can plan collections for the items to fill their stockings and provide them with basic supplies.
“We will ship as many packages as we receive funding for. Everyone can write a letter or message to ‘their soldier’,” said Bonnie Phillippi. “Please share this campaign far and wide!”
The Yellow Ribbon Girls and their faithful group of volunteers and supporters have been able to ship monthly care packages and BIG boxes of Christmas treasures around the world to our deployed troops for over 18 years. The Yellow Ribbon Girls started with one Soldier’s request and have grown to support several hundred service men and women. As some return safely, others just start their deployment. It is only through the kindness of so many concerned citizens we are able to continue this project.

Hi Friends: I had never heard of your organization since we are located near Uniontown…50 miles south of Pittsburgh. I am Bob Logue, formerly of KDKA Radio—host (before retirement) of the overnight Undercover Club for 17 years. A friend of yours told me that you were aware of my Undercover Club Newsletters and stuffed them in some of your boxes for the troops. I often have leftover newsletters and would be happy to share them with you if you’d care to have them–free, of course, to add to your boxes. I also would loved to spread the word via the newsletter about your fine group…If you get this, please feel free to respond to my e-mail or give me a call at 724-245-8170. God bless you for what you do for our troops. Hope to hear from you soon. Bob Logue
