Mayor Court conducted the Laying of Wreath and gave remarks in Honor of our Ellwood City WW II Veterans, along with all WW II Veterans.
“VJ Day” has been used for the date, September 2, 1945, when Japan’s formal surrender took place aboard the U.S.S. Missouri, anchored in Tokyo Bay. Coming several months after the surrender of Nazi Germany, Japan’s capitulation in the Pacific brought six years of hostilities to a final and highly anticipated close.

WWII was about sacrifice. The greatest generation sacrificed like no other
generation. Food rations, curfews, blackouts, and loss of life and limb.
This generation is asked to wear a mask and stay a few feet apart.
No way can’t do it.
And thanks to the mayor for leading the way!
You gotta love The EC!
