Randall “Randy” C. Syphrit, 52

Randall “Randy” C. Syphrit, 52, of Ellwood City, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.  Born on May 16, 1967, Randy was the son of Thomas and Shirley (Hollinback) Syphrit.  He married the former Lori Toland on April 30, 1994.

Randy was a member of the 1985 graduating class from Riverside High School.  He worked for North Sewickley Township Road Department as an equipment operator.  He had been a 34-year member of the North Sewickley Volunteer Fire Department where he served as the Assistant Chief #2 Station.  A long-time active member of Providence Baptist Church, Randy served as Trustee Chairman for many years.  Randy loved the Lord and had a passion for serving others.  He loved spending time with family and especially loved going on hunting trips with his son, brothers, dad and nephew.

Randy is survived by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Emily Toland, and a son, Joshua Syphrit of Ellwood City.  Also surviving are his siblings and their spouses; Jeff (Jackie) Syphrit, Rick (Nicole) Syphrit, Carrie (Neil) Froce as well as nieces and nephews Jennifer (Rob) Parks, James Syphrit, Anthony, Blake, Caitlan, and Hannah Froce, his mother-in-law, Zelda Toland, aunts and uncles.

He was proceeded in death by grandparents, Howard and Gladys Syphrit, William and Clyster Hollinback, a brother, Mark Syphrit, and father-in-law Larry Toland.

Friends will be received on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.

Friends will also be received on Saturday August 24, 2019 at Providence Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Matt Morabito, Jeff Becze, Amy Schmidhammer, Pastor Calvin Cummings, and the ER staff of Heritage Valley Beaver Medical Center.

    Oh precious family I just heard the sad news of Randy passing. Praying that you know peace that passes understanding as this seems so incomprehensible. What a treasure Randy was. Such a kind, compassionate and caring person. Lori, praying especially for you. Your relationship was truly a picture of a wonderful marriage. Words cannot encompass the loss of such a dear man.     I taught Randy at Locust Grove in fourth grade, a wonderful person you could never forget !
