For the second time in her sophomore season, Skyla Greco has been named the PSAC West Softball Pitcher of the Week. The Seton Hill sophomore also earned the first award for this season from the league as well.
Greco threw a no-hitter game during the second game of a doubleheader sweep of Wheeling Jesuit. She gave up only one unearned run during an error in the first inning to help keep the Cardinals hitless, finishing out the game with a strikeout six for the win.
Currently, Greco holds six wins along with a 3.52 ERA. She has also pitched 55.2 innings, striking out 43 batters. [VIEW BIO]
During her senior season in 2017 playing for the Lady Wolverines varsity softball team, Greco helped the team carry a 37-game winning streak into the season’s Class 3A championship game. Greco was dominant in five innings of work, striking out nine batters in a convincing 10-0 victory in five innings against Deer Lakes. The victory capped a back-to-back WPIAL championship season for Ellwood City. [READ MORE]
As a high school senior, Skyla gained 146 strikeouts during the 2017 season.
