Local Women Loses $529 Due To Fraud
On Monday, March 18 at 11:09 a.m., an elderly woman called the Ellwood City Police to report four pending transactions on her card that she did not make. These transactions include two for $30 from Barnes & Nobles and two plain $30 transactions, and a final unknown transaction for $529.
The police are currently still investigating this after they had received official bank statements from the woman.
PlayStation 4 Stolen From A Mans Home
25-year-old Glenn Boyle hosted a few of his friends over on March 16 in honor of St. Patricks Day. Boyle had his Sony PlayStation 4 out so he could play music on it for the little get together.
Boyle said that he went to bed at around 1:00 a.m., and that was the last he saw his game console. He values the console at around $300 and says he has no clue who was left in his residence after he went to bed.
Ellwood Police currently have not made any arrests.
Drunk and Shoeless
Saturday, March 16, 22-year-old Christian John Perrin was arrested in with a charge of Public Drunkenness.
The Ellwood Police were called with a claim that a man in a Harley Davidson hooded jacket was drunk, shoeless, and peering into cars. Police followed him until they finally caught up with him on Garden Avenue. Police claim that he reeked of alcohol, was speaking very slurred and was also mumbling and swearing.
They then took him to the police station and proceeded to ask him for a number they could call to arrange someone to come and pick him up. Perrin then began calling officers vulgar names as well as he began to yell and swear at the police. The police struggled with Perrin before he was placed in a holding cell, where he proceeded to yell about the fact that his phone was dead and unable to be used to call someone.
Finally, police contacted a friend of his to come and pick him up from the station at 7:17 a.m. on Sunday.
Local Disturbances Between Mother And Daughter
A local mother and daughter had an argument over the mom taking her daughters phone because of her grades, and the daughter did not agree to this.
The police were called on Saturday, March 16 at 3:00 p.m. by the mom because her daughter had left the residence after she was told not to leave.
She was later brought back by her mother’s daughter-in-law where police told her about the complaint. She responded that she was planning on coming back, she just was talking a walk to cool down. Police proceeded to leave the residence after both mother and daughter calmed down.
