New Ellwood City Borough Manager Elected at November Council Meeting

Ellwood City Council votes on new borough manager at the monthly meeting on November 19. All council members were present at the meeting except Mayor, Anthony J. Court.

Ellwood City Council has finally permanently filled the borough manager position for the upcoming year.

The council voted 5-2 for William David Allen to be the new full-time borough manger. The two opposing council members were Lisa Guerrera and Robert Brough.

The council had some setbacks attempting to fill the borough manager position earlier in the year. The position was advertised multiple times in the past but officials had a hard time finding qualified applicants or keeping applicants from dropping out.

The newly elected borough manager will receive a full benefits package along with a $68,000.00 yearly salary.

  1. This hiring is a joke. There were plenty of qualified candidates, but I guess you need to be a realtor to actually qualify, because somehow selling real estate makes you a good Brough manager. Funny….hiring someone who hasn’t lived in the area for how many years ???? Based on his resume that’s been displayed I’m curious how that makes him qualify for this position? Good luck Mr. Allen, just make sure the council president is on your side because if not you won’t last long. Just ask her yourself she’s ran everyone else out of town, and then once she realized she couldn’t handle the position which was her original plans she bailed also. Joke City.
