Mary Rugh, 94

Mrs. Mary Rugh, 94, formerly of Ellport, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Rhodes Estates in New Castle.

Mrs. Rugh was born on November 12, 1923 in Ellwood City to the late John and Mary (Maier) Neghiu. She had graduated from Lincoln high School with the class of 1941. For many years Mary worked at the Ellwood Glass Company. She was an active member of the St. Elia’s Romanian Orthodox Church, the St. Elia’s Ladies Auxiliary, and the Carol 1 Romanian Aid Society. She enjoyed line dancing and going to Challenges.

Mary is survived by her sisters-in-law; Florence “Zina” Neghiu of Ellwood City and Vicki Neghiu, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George E. Neghiu whom she married on August 13, 1966 and passed away on November 4, 1988, her sister, Valeria Rossi, and her brothers, John Neghiu, Jr., Daniel Neghiu, and Peter Neghiu.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 pm and on Thursday from 10:30 am until the time of the service at 11:30 am at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services with Father John Schmidt officiating. The Saracusta Service will be held on Wednesday at 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Locust Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Mary’s name may be made to the St. Elia’s Romanian Orthodox Church, 423 Cherry Way, Ellwood City, Pa 16117.
