Joseph A. Mazzei, Jr., 56, of Ellwood City passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Brighton Rehabilitation and Wellness Center.

Joe was born on April 14, 1962 in Ellwood City to the late Joseph A. “Lucky” Mazzei, Sr. and Connie (DeBaise) Mazzei. He graduated from Lawrence County Vo-Tech in 1980 where he earned a diploma in Industrial Electricity. Joe enlisted with the U.S. Army on July 13, 1980 and served with the 6th Battery Battalion as a Weapons Support Radar Repairer at Fort Sill, OK with the rank of SP-4 until his discharge on July 12, 1986. Joe then served with the Army National Guard for several years also with the rank of SP-4. Following his service with the Army, Joe worked as a self employed electrician. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising beagles, and spending time at his camp in Kennerdell.

Joe is survived by his brother, Anthony J. Mazzei of Ellwood City, and sister, Lisa (Jeff) Mannion of Gulf Breeze, FL, and his niece, Marissa Mannion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Arthur J. Mazzei on August 11, 2017.

A private graveside service will be held for the family at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Brighton Rehabilitation & Wellness Center for the wonderful care they extended to Joseph.

The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services.
