EC Jr High Softball Remains Unbeaten, Riverside Varsity Victory Over Shenango

EC Jr High Softball Remains Unbeaten After 10th Straight Win

The Lady Wolverines traveled to Ambridge on Wednesday afternoon and made quick work of the Bridgers. The mercy rule stopped the game after 3 innings and the team returned home with a 15-0 victory.

The bats were on fire as nine different players banged out 15 hits. Kali Barnett, Aliya Garroway, Angie Nardone, Mollie Street, Katelyn Wehman, and Jenna Vetica each contributed two hits. Wehman had a double in the left field corner, Grace Balin stroked a double into the left center field gap, and Garroway lined a shot off of the center field fence for a two base hit as well. Kyla Servick contributed a single as did Cassidy Crepp. Crepp’s was her first junior high hit and was a line shot into left field in the third inning. Kaylani Leos had an rbi with a sacrifice fly in the second inning.

Nardone and Garroway once again combined for a shutout without issuing a walk. Nardone got the win as she pitched the first inning and struck out the side without a hit. Garroway whiffed 5 batters and gave up two infield singles. Second baseman Wehman provided the other out as she made a nifty grab on a pop up behind second base.

The Lady Wolverines will travel to Monaca on Friday to battle Central Valley. First pitch is set for 3:30pm.
