Ellwood City JR High Softball Team Remains Undefeated

The good news for Blackhawk was that they scored the first run of the game. The bad news was The Lady Wolverines scoring the next 18 runs to win in a 3 inning mercy rule shortened game Monday evening at Stiefel Park.

Mollie Street led the offense with a triple and single. Kali Barnett also tripled off the fence in centerfield and Kyla Servick doubled. Aliya Garroway, Angie Nardone, Grace Balin, Jenna Vetica, and Kaylani Leos all contributed singles. Katelyn Wehman and Maddie Hicks each scored twice while Cassidy Crepp scored once. Chloe Duncan and Jaidyn Leviere added rbi’s.

Angie Nardone got the win in the circle as she pitched the first inning. She gave up 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 1. She did not issue a walk. Garroway went the final two innings and did not allow a run. She also yielded 2 hits while fanning 4 and walking 2.

The defense played error free ball once again. Servick, Barnett, Garroway, and Balin all fielded ground balls flawlessly.

The team will look to make it nine in a row as they host New Castle Tuesday evening at Stiefel Park. First pitch is set for 6pm.
