EC JR HIGH SOFTBALL TEAM REMAINS UNDEFEATED BEATS MOHAWK 14-0

The offense started out on fire as they plated 13 runs in the first inning on Friday night at Stiefel Park. The game was halted after 5 innings as the mercy rule took effect. Kyla Servick, Kali Barnett, and Grace Balin led the charge with doubles. Angie Nardone, Mollie Street, Katelyn Wehman, and Maddie Hicks contributed singles. Aliya Garroway, Jenna Vetica, and Chloe Duncan also scored while Kaylani Leos added an rbi.

Nardone got the win in the circle to raise her record to 6-0. In two innings of work, the lanky righthander fanned 2 and did not issue a walk. She yielded just 1 hit. Garroway went the final 3 striking out 7 without a walk. She gave up 2 hits.

The defense was error free once again with the infield being particularly strong. Second baseman Servick, shortstop Street, and first baseman Balin added the play of the game as they turned a 4-6-3 double play to end the second inning.

The Lady Wolverines will look for win #7 on Monday as they travel to Laurel to take on the Spartans. First pitch is set for 4pm.

Riverside Panthers Varsity Blows Away Beaver Falls By Ten Runs

Riverside Panthers Varsity blew out Beaver Falls 12-2 on Friday. Danny Fox was the winning pitcher for Riverside, he allowed two hits and two runs over five innings along with striking out seven.

Trent Whippo took the loss for Beaver Falls. He allowed seven hits and six runs over two and a third innings, striking out one.

Nick Ottaviani started the game for Riverside. he lasted one inning, allowing two hits and zero runs while walking zero.

Riverside racked up 13 hits in the game. Fox, Brian MacMurdo, Gunnar Boehm, Drew Speicher and Ty Thellman all managed multiple hits for Riverside. Fox went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Riverside in hits. Riverside tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Boehm led the way with three.
