PORTERSVILLE, PA — Several area students will carry on the musical tradition of “Fiddler on the Roof” at 7 p.m. April 26-28 at Portersville Christian School.
Performers from Ellwood City are Danny Schlachter, Kaylin Kingston and Faith Patterson. New Castle area participants include Aubrey Hollerman, Josh Rupert, Aidan Ramsey, Ben Hurta and Christian Cater.
Leah Hoffer of Beaver Falls also appears in the show while Julia Mangiapane of Fombell serves on the stage crew.
Set in Russia in the early 20th century, “Fiddler on the Roof” tells the story of how Tevye, a Jewish milkman, his wife, their five daughters and neighbors endure through life, holding to their traditions and faith, in a village where life is as precarious as a fiddler on the roof.
The musical, directed by Ryan Wise, includes many popular songs, including “Tradition,” “Matchmaker,” “If I Were a Rich Man,” “L’Chaim (To Life),” “Do You Love Me,” “Anatevka” and “Sunrise, Sunset.”

Portersville Christian School is located at 343 E. Portersville Road, Portersville, 16051, 1 mile east of I-79 at exit 96. It is centrally located, just 20 minutes from Cranberry Township, Butler, New Castle, Slippery Rock, Ellwood City and Grove City.
