Ellwood City Public Library Activities for Week of Feb 26

Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:

Wednesday, February 28, at 10:00 a.m.“Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a program designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome, so call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information.

Wednesday, February 28, at 6:00 p.m. “Movie Night for Adults” starts up again for the 2018 year. These monthly events, which are free and open to all area adults, feature new-to-DVD films and refreshments. Call the library for more information or to discover the titles of the films to be shown.

Thursday, March 1, at 10:00 a.m. – A special “Birthday Party in Honor of Dr. Seuss” is planned for area babies, toddlers and preschools. This is the kickoff of the spring session of “Family Laptime and Preschool Story Time.” Featured will be stories, games, finger plays and more — all highlighting a Dr. Seuss theme. Thursday, March 1, at 3:00 p.m. “Hooked on Books,” a book discussion group for students in 6th through 8th grades. The group meets monthly for book discussion and pizza. New members are welcome, so call the library for more information.

Thursday, March 1, at 6:00 p.m.Adult Knitting Group whose members meet weekly to work on individual projects. New members are welcome, so call the library for more information.

Saturday, March 3, at 10:00 a.m.“Silly Science and Lego Day,” featuring silly science experiments and Lego building. The program is designed for kids in kindergarten through 6th grade. No registration is required, so call the library for more information.

Saturday, March 3, at 12:00 Noon“Twenty-Something Book Discussion Group,” designed for college-aged students and folks in their twenties. The group meets once each month for book discussion and pizza. Call the library for more information.

The spring sessions of Family Laptime and Preschool Story Time will begin the week of March 6 and continue through the week of April 23. Family Laptime is designed for babies, toddlers and preschoolers and the Preschool Story Time is designed for preschoolers 3 years of age and older. Featured at both programs are stories, songs, finger plays, games and more. Registration is requested, so call the library for more information.

The Rotary Club of Ellwood City will be at the library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10, to assist people in purchasing their tickets to this year’s performance of the Duquesne University Tamburitzans, scheduled for Sunday, March 25th at Lincoln High School. The library’s Classics Book Discussion Group starts its spring session on Monday, March 12. New members are welcome, so call the library for more information.
