DUI’s

According to the criminal complaint filed on October 11, Brian Adam Kent, 24, of Ellwood City, is facing charges of driving under the influence and DUI: highest rate of alcohol (BAC .16+) after he was stopped October 4 for erratic driving through Ellwood. The responding officer noticed a strong smell of alcohol emitting from the vehicle and the defendant stated he was drinking that night. Kent failed all the sobriety tests and was taken to the hospital for a blood test which came back positive at .188% blood alcohol level.

According to the criminal complaint filed on October 11, Matthew Aaron Huber, 33, of Ellwood City, is facing charges of driving under the influence, driving under the influence (blood alcohol above .16%) , obedience to authorized persons directing traffic, obedience to traffic-control devices, stop signs and yield signs, and careless driving after he was stopped on September 10 for erratic driving. Huber was driving at a high rate of speed and failed to stop for a construction worker who was holding a “stop” sign. The responding officer suspected a potential DUI and sobriety tested the defendant. Huber was sent to the hospital for a blood test which came back positive at .186% blood alcohol level.

According to the criminal complaint filed on October 13, David Craig Lysiak, 30, of Ellwood City, is facing charges of driving under the influence, DUI: high rate of alcohol (BAC .10-.16), and operating vehicle without required financial responsibility after he crashed into a utility pole on Wampum Ave. on October 5. The responding officer asked man if he was drinking, which he replied that he had two beers. The officer conducted sobriety tests on the defendant who failed all of the tests and was transported to the hospital for a blood test which came back positive at .141 blood alcohol level.

Harassment and Simple Assault

According to the criminal complaint, Ryan Michael Carr, 24, of Ellwood, is facing charges of simple assault and harassment after an incident occurred on September 18. The defendant had an argument with another man which escalated into a physical fight resulting in Carr knocking the man to the ground, repeatedly punching and kicking the victim in the head and face. As a result of the incident the victim sustained substantial injuries to his face, nose, and left eye. Carr fled from the scene and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
