Arthur E. “Hook” Butler, 69

Arthur E. “Hook” Butler, 69, of State Avenue, Ellport, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver.

Born in Ellwood City on April 19, 1946, Arthur was the son of the late Raymond and Mary Kovach Butler. He married the former Patricia Aradi on Dec. 5, 1975. A 1964 graduate of Lincoln High School, Arthur retired from NALCO where he worked in maintenance for over thirty years. He was a Veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Arthur was a member of Park Gate Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Hungarian Home and he enjoyed shooting pool and bowling.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Patricia, and his son, Christopher Butler, both of Ellport, two sisters; Elizabeth Groves of Ellwood City and Ruth Simon of Cranberry Twp., and a brother, Thomas Butler of Ellwood City. In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by two brothers; Robert and Richard Butler.

Friends will be received from 6 8 p.m. on Friday, March 4 at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening at 8 p.m. with Rev. David Childs of Park Gate Baptist Church. Contributions can be made in Arthur’s name to the donor’s favorite charity.
