The Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation hosted their annual opening day ceremony Saturday at Friedhoff Field – an event which the organizations Vice President, Michael Widmaier, said was a success. “The weather held off until the end, parents and grandparents paraded with their kids, the high school baseball players applauded the young players as they paraded onto the field, Mayor Court attended, and Nathan Scott threw the first pitch. Ellwood City Wolverines Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Beaver Falls Ellwood City Wolverines defeated Beaver Falls 7-6 in a back-and-forth affair on Wednesday.
