Lincoln won 66-54 against Mohawk Area on Tuesday with the help of Broc Boariu, who scored 22 points. Ellwood City Wolverines pulled away early with a 22-point first quarter after an impressive 22-2 run, eventually claiming a 36-20 lead by halftime. With a field goal percentage of 47% (7-for-15), Boariu had a great game from the field, also sinking 50% (6-for-12) of threes attempted. Works of Great Lake Artist, Tied to Tide, Coming to BC3 Gallery

NOTICE: Portion of 6th Street Closed

A small portion of 6th Street, in between Crescent and Lawrence Avenue, has been completely closed off until further notice due to a water leak. The water company is currently at the scene trying to fix the problem – which has left some residents without water. There is no time estimate that has been given when the water will be working again for those residents nor when the road will be back open.

Riverside Players to be Presented with WPIAL Championship Rings

Tomorrow the players of Riverside’s 2017 varsity baseball team will be receiving their WPIAL Championship rings during the basketball match against Ellwood City. This is the fifth year for Riverside to win the WPIAL Championship. The team won their 2017 season 19-2, losing their last game to Central. Ellwood City Wolverines Defeat Rochester

Ellwood City defeated Rochester 64-62 on Wednesday after an evenly matched game that saw neither team lead by more than six points. After the game worked its way to another tie late in the fourth quarter, Ellwood City used back to back three-pointers from Anthony Roth and Broc Boariu to stretch out to their biggest lead in the contest at 56-50. Bernstine Bill Would Stop Life Insurance Payouts to Terrorists

HARRISBURG – A recent terror attack on police at the Pennsylvania State Capitol Complex prompted state Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) today to unveil new legislation, which would limit life insurance payouts of individuals who die committing acts of terrorism. The proposal also calls for a portion of the terrorist’s life insurance benefits to be redirected to victims. “I don’t believe you deserve to keep your life insurance benefits if you intentionally steal the lives of innocent Americans,” Bernstine said. “We shouldn’t allow terrorism to be rewarded.” House Bill 1996 would allow insurance companies to limit payouts to beneficiaries named on…
