CCBC Announces President’s and Dean’s Lists for Summer Terms

Monaca, PA – Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) is proud to release 112 names of students who achieved President’s List and Dean’s List honors for the summer 2017 semester. In order to be named to the President’s List, students must have completed at least 12 hours of credit-bearing courses in which performance grades are awarded, and have received a 3.75 grade-point average or above for the semester. Dean’s List honorees must have completed at least 12 hours of credit-bearing courses in which performance grades are awarded and have received a 3.25 to 3.74 grade-point average for the semester.  …

BodyShop To Host Jam-A-Thon: Hurricane Harvey Benefit Sept 14, 2017

Local fitness studio, BodyShop Group Fitness, will deviate from its normal schedule to host a special 3 hour hip hop inspired workout with the aim to help with the relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey. Two weeks ago, Texas was hit with unprecedented rainfall from Hurricane Harvey. While most of the immediate needs of food and water are being met, thousands of families are returning to find their homes nearly destroyed by the damage and practically uninhabitable. Little Beaver Historical Society Fall Festival

The Little Beaver Historical Society, located at 803 Plumb Street, Darlington PA., 16115, will be hosting a fall festival on September 9 and 10 from 9a.m. – 5p.m. All of the Society’s buildings including the Greersburg Academy, the Red Brick Museum the McCarl industrial museum, 1820’s log cabin and forge will be open during the festival and free to tour. Ellwood City Historical Society Annual Picnic

The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will host its annual picnic beginning at 6 p.m. Sept. 11 in Ewing Park’s shelter No. 8, which is located in the back loop of the park. The event is open to the public and those attending are asked to bring a covered dish to share and their own table service. The society will furnish the meat, drinks and dessert. Ellwood City’s very own radio station, WXED, will now be airing the Wolverine’s home games live, hosted by their resident on-air personality, Troy Robert.
