The Wolverines emerged victorious 78-62 against Freedom on Tuesday on the strength of Anthony Roth, who scored 31 points.
Ellwood City had an early scoring surge, running out to an early double digit lead and claiming a 41-32 lead at the half. Lincoln solidified their lead in the final quarter, scoring 24 points.
Roth led the charge for the Wolverine offense, scoring 31 points (10-17 shooting, one 3-pointers), with 11 points during the fourth period. He also contributed nine rebounds, five assists and two steals. Entering the game, Roth needed 37 points to reach 1,000 for his career and will look to collect his milestone Wednesday night against Steel Valley
Broc Boariu (21 points, four 3-pointers) and Rick Pitrelli (9 points, three 3-pointers) each had multiple three-pointers. Also helping the effort for Lincoln were Ryan Busby (8 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals), Sean Busby (7 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals), and Rocco Sesti (2 points, 1 rebound).
Lincoln finished the game with 38 rebounds (12 offensive / 26 defensive) and 10 steals.
Tyler Mohrbacher collected a team-high 23 points for Freedom in a losing effort.
The Ellwood City Wolverines (4-2 overall) next host Steel Valley at home Wednesday night with a 7:30pm gametime.
