David J. Falatko, 61

David J. Falatko, known to his friends as ” OSO”, 61, of Taylor Township went home to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Greenville Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle against cancer.

Born September 14, 1955 in New Castle, he was the son of John M. Falatko and Joyce K. Pavkovich Falatko. Surviving him is his beloved wife of 30 years, the former Miss Robin Hedlund, whom he married on May 29, 1987.

David was a self employed contractor. He was affiliated with the Victory Christian Center. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Christian Counseling. An avid outdoorsman, David enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He was a Pittsburgh Sports Fan.

David was a loving man who spent years balancing work, God, and family, not necessarily in that order. He was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, friend, and mentor to many. He enjoyed many things in life, but most of all he loved helping things grow. His sons and daughters, as well as his garden are a testament to this. David’s sense of humor and patient and loving spirit will be remembered by all the many people he touched during his life.

In addition to his wife, mother, and father, David is survived by his children, Rudy Vellone, Heather and her husband Wayne Ferrell, Johnna and her husband William Pocza, Jarrod Falatko, Caitlyn Falatko and T.J. Palipchak; his brother, Michael Falatko; his grandchildren Zachary and Brayden Ferrell, Kaileah, Nate, and Haley Vellone, as well as two great-grandchildren, Alex and Spencer.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday February 20 at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street, Wampum Pa. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Jere Beulah of Victory Christian Church officiating. Condolences may be sent to the family at marshallsfh.com.
