“Starting and Growing Your Business in Ellwood”

It’s not always easy knowing where to start, especially when it comes to something like establishing a business – that’s why the Borough of Ellwood City has partnered with the Ellwood City Chamber of Commerce and the Lawrence County Economic Development to encourage and provide information and resources to anyone interested in starting a business in Ellwood.

Located on the Borough’s website under the work tab, a clickable link saying “Business Start-Up Guide” will appear, which contains a guide called “Starting and Growing Your Business in Ellwood.”

The guide was put together by experts in the local business industry to share mastery regarding business start up procedures.

Throughout 29 information filled pages, nine basic steps are listed to inform entrepreneurs about the necessary steps they will need to take in order to start a business in Ellwood; including paying business fees, obtaining permits, and how to find assistance – to name a few topics.

Although the guide doesn’t provide legal advice, it does give an excellent starting point of knowledge to anyone searching for standard business information.

“The purpose of the guide is for people who have a business idea but don’t know how to pursue it. It will give them a head start and access to the respective expertise,” Bob Villella, the Borough Manager said.

Since the decline of the population over many decades, the Borough remains hopeful that the guide – along with many other business-attraction strategies the Borough has been pursuing –  will promote business and population growth in the community.

At very least, some useful knowledge can be obtained from the document.

“If the guide would have been available when I was starting my business I definitely would have utilized it. I think it’s a great tool that many people can and will benefit from,” Danny McConaughy, the owner of the recently opened gym in Ellwood, Hello Fitness, stated.
