Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of October 24, 2016

Activities at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:

Tuesday, October 25, at 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. — Family Laptime, an interactive program designed for babies as young as 6 months old and preschoolers up to 5 years old. The program, which runs through November 22, features stories, songs, finger plays and more. Registration is requested, so call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information.

Tuesday, October 25, at 3:00 p.m. – Creative Writing Workshop for students in 7th grade and up. The group meets twice each month to share their work and discuss writing tips and techniques. New members are always welcome, so call the library for more information.

Wednesday, October 26, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a new concept in helping to reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome, so call the library for more information.

Wednesday, October 26, at 6:00 p.m. – “Movie Night for Adults,” a monthly program that is free and open to all area adults. Featured are new-to-DVD films and refreshments. Those interested in more information or to discover the title of the move to be shown may call the library.

Thursday, October 27, at 10:00 a.m. — Preschool Story Time, designed for children 3 years of age and older. Featured are stories, songs, finger plays and more. Registration is requested, so call the library for more information.

Thursday, October 27, at 3:00 p.m. – “Food 4 Thought,” a book discussion group for students in 9th grade and up. The group will discuss the book, “The Program,” by Suzanne Young. Call the library for more information.

Thursday, October 27, at 6:00 p.m. – Adult Knitting Group meets at the library weekly. Members work on individual projects and provide their own materials. New members are always welcome, so call the library for more information.

A “Family Movie Night,” designed for area children and their families, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, and 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 3. Children ages 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Full-length feature films are shown and refreshments are served. Call the library for more information.

“Star Wars Day,” featuring the Storm Troopers of the 501st Legion (plus a very special guest) will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, at the library. A program by the Storm Troopers, phot ops and much more will be featured. All Star Wars fans of every age should mark their calendars now!
