George W. Martin, 92

George Walter Martin, 92, of Enon Valley (Little Beaver Twp.) passed away Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at Heritage Valley – Beaver Hospital.

A lifelong resident of Little Beaver Twp., George was born June 6, 1923 to the late Alfred A. and Hilda M. Keebler Martin. He was married for 69 years to Leita Raney Martin as they were married Aug. 15, 1946. She survives.

George retired after 20 years from Babcock and Wilcox, however the job he loved the most was farming. He was a lifetime active member of the Enon Presbyterian Church having served in many different capacities. George was a member of the former Odd Fellows in Enon Valley, the Enon Valley Historical Society and a director of the Little Beaver Cemetery Association.

In addition to his wife, Leita, survivors include four children, Alfred (Sondra) Martin, Carol (Dan) Foster, Shawn Martin, Gary Martin, all of Enon Valley. His circle of love included nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Honoring George’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Interment took place in the Little Beaver Cemetery.

A Memorial Service to honor George will be held at the Enon Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. with his pastor, Rev. Duane Herron officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Enon Presbyterian Church, 230 Church St. Enon Valley, PA 16120.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum.
