Beaver Falls Library Activities for January and February

Beaver Falls– The Carnegie Free Library of Beaver Falls is helping you chase the winter blahs away with activities for all ages.

Coloring for Adults- The new sensation of adult relaxation Coloring for Adults is sweeping the nation and the library is a great place to hang out, color, relax and enjoy some conversation. In the reading area for adults, the library has set up some color pages, color pencils and pens for the area of creative relaxation. Coloring is always fun, teens are encouraged to join in the fun. Drop in anytime while the library is open to experience this new phenomenon.

Jan. 13 to Feb. 17– Story Experience for 3 to 5 year olds at 10:30 a.m. The session’s them is Caldecott; stories and activities for skills enhancement will use many of the award winning books for children to discover. Registration is requested by calling the library at 724-846-4340

Jan 20– Beaver Falls Historical Society will be holding their monthly meeting at 1:30 p.m. The program will be on Old Family Recipes. Share some of your family favorites. Lovers of history and Beaver Falls history are encourage to attend.

Jan 25– Lego Club will be meeting at 5:45pm. Children 7 and up are encouraged to attend and build, share create interesting and fun structures using Legos. No registration is required.

Jan 26- Novel Approach book club for adults will be meeting at 5 p.m. on the last Tuesday of every month. Book discussions are based on a theme, everyone reads a different book and shares their opinion. For more information or to find out this month’s theme, please call the library at 724.846.4340

Jan 27– Reading Circle book club will be meeting at 10:30 a.m. on fourth Wednesday of every month. This month’s selection is “The Invention Wing” by Sue Monk Kidd. For more information or to join the group, please call Debbie at the library 724-846-4340

Jan. 25, Feb 8 and 22, March 14 and 28; second and fourth Mondays of the month at 4 p.m. the Crochet Hookers meet. All experience levels are welcomed. Share your knowledge, learn a new stitch or two, meet other crochets in a fun relaxing atmosphere.

Feb. 6 Tax time is once again here and the library in partnership with Geneva College’s VITA Program (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) will be offering Free Tax Return Assistance in the library on Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The program assists families that have Basic Returns, make under $60,000 annually or be over 60 years of age. Please bring with you your social security information, valid picture ID and tax documents for the year and last year’s tax return. This is by appointment only. You must call the library at 724-846-4340 to schedule a time. Hurry space is limited
