Jeannette Throws Shutout as Riverside Panthers Varsity Defeats Lincoln

Adam Jeannette didn’t allow a single run as Riverside Panthers Varsity defeated Lincoln 10-0 on Wednesday. Jeannette allowed just two hits and struck out Roth to end the game. An early lead helped propel Riverside Panthers Varsity to victory. Riverside Panthers Varsity scored on a walk by Austin Dambach, a single by Gunnar Boehm, and a grand slam by Danny Fox in the first inning. Birds chirping and warmer weather means one thing – it is golf season! Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce 29th Annual Golf Open is on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Olde Stonewall Golf Club. Olde Stonewall is considered Western Pennsylvania’s Premier Golf Destination. The Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation hosted their annual opening day ceremony Saturday at Friedhoff Field – an event which the organizations Vice President, Michael Widmaier, said was a success. “The weather held off until the end, parents and grandparents paraded with their kids, the high school baseball players applauded the young players as they paraded onto the field, Mayor Court attended, and Nathan Scott threw the first pitch. Stiefel Park Batting Practice: Lady Wolverines Hit 2 Homers and Improve to 10-0

 Grove City entered Friday evening’s non section game with 11 home runs on the season. The Lady Wolverines won the home run battle and the game with a 9-5 victory. Ellwood City Wolverines Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Beaver Falls Ellwood City Wolverines defeated Beaver Falls 7-6 in a back-and-forth affair on Wednesday. The game was tied at three with Ellwood City Wolverines batting in the top of the sixth when Jordan Recce reached on a dropped third strike. Despite falling down by four runs in the seventh inning, Beaver Falls tried to fight back. Riverside was victorious over Ellwood City in both the girls and boys track competition Monday evening. “The teams competed well, but we are missing the depth to compete with a strong team such as Riverside.
