After a close meet on February 13th, Riverside boys varsity swimming edged out Beaver 99-83, earning their second undefeated section championship. Girls swimming also claimed a win, beating the Bobcats 89-85 for an overall a 6-2 season record. Riverside’s Swim Team Making A Splash At WPIAL Championship

The Riverside swim team made a splash in the WPIAL championships this past weekend. On the first day, February 28, the Panthers were led by the 200-yard medley relay team of Alexander Roth, Josiah Shaffer, Graham Kralic and Donnie Paracca, which placed second with a time of 1:38.53, less than two-tenths of a second behind Indiana. The same quartet placed third in the 200 freestyle relay. “Nothing will keep them from doing their best! “We are a little fish in a big pond and we will leave our mark,” expressed Riverside Swim Team head coach Gwen Nulph when asked about the upcoming WPIAL Swimming Championships. They surely have owned up to this statement during the season and now turn their attention to the WPIAL Class AA championships. Riverside Varsity Swim team is making a ‘splash’ this season as the undefeated Panthers boys’ team will be looking to claim a section championship this week. Both the boys and girls varsity swim teams won in their Senior Night meet against Beaver Fall that had been held last Thursday. Prior to the meet the team honored their swimming seniors Tristn Schuester, the foreign exchange student, Jonas Tamme from Germany, Rachel LaRocca, Mckenna Hoyman, Wyatt Ray, and Donnie Paracca.
