Ellwood City To Plan Hard-to-Recycle Event

The Borough of Ellwood City has scheduled a hard-to-recycle collection event next month. The event, sponsored by the Lawence-Mercer Recycling/Solid Waste Department, will be held on Tuesday, July 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The recycling event will take place at the Ellwood City Public Works garage located at 105 Sixth Street in Ellwood City This session is open to borough residents only, and no commercial or institutional materials will be accepted. PHOTOS: New Public Works Building Construction Progress

As of their recent February meeting, the Borough of Ellwood City’s new public works building now has 100% all of its roofing work completed as well as 100% of the masonry work completed, according to Dan Franus, of Franus Architectural Associates, the architect behind the new 26,000 square-foot building behind constructed behind CVS Pharmacy. The fascia work is also 100% complete. Their overhead door installation is currently at 90%; all doors are installed, they are just working on the motorization of them. Wet Weather Not Deterring Public Works Building Construction

Recent bouts of wet weather and some setbacks have not deterred the on going construction of the new Ellwood City Public Works building according to Dan Franus, the architect behind the new building. The Public Works Construction is ‘Progressing Well’

The demolition of the Ellwood City Public Works Building and a few other surrounding lots is progressing well, according to Borough Manager, Robert Villella.
