Mayor Anthony J. Court proclaimed Thursday, September 28, 2023 to be “Jessie Swogger Berkebile Day” in the Borough of Ellwood City. Jessie was presented with a proclamation on her 81st birthday celebration. She was the first full-time woman police officer in the Borough of Ellwood City. She was hired by Ellwood City Borough Council on August 22, 1979 and started working on September 16, 1979. Jessie is the mother of the Borough Manager, Kevin Swogger. Dr. F. Gerald “Jerry” Kroll was presented with a proclamation by George Celli, President of Ellwood City Borough Council last week. Dr. Kroll was presented the proclamation for all the service he had given to Ellwood City and around the world. His passion for evangelism and discipleship has led him to Asia, Southeast Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, North America, Latin America along with other parts of the world. Mayor Anthony J. Court proclaimed Saturday, April 29, 2023 as Louise Carroll day in Ellwood City. The mayor, along with Council President George Celli, presented a proclamation in her honor celebrating her 90th Birthday. Louise is a prominent writer for the Ellwood City Ledger that highlights different citizens of our community.
