Route 288 Wampum Road Bridge Restriction Begins Monday

PennDOT District 11 is announcing single-lane alternating traffic on the Wampum Road (Route 288) Bridge in Wayne Township and Wampum Borough, Lawrence County, will begin Monday, February 10 weather permitting. Single-lane alternating traffic will occur on the Route 288 bridge over the Beaver River between Main Street and River Road from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through late February. Crews from Michael Facchiano Contracting, Inc. will install web stiffeners on the bridge. Route 288 Bridge Replacement Project Progress

With many focused on the pending status and re-opening of the Koppel Bridge, another local bridge replacement is taking place in Wayne Township and will have forthcoming lane restrictions and brief detour later this month. Koppel Bridge Construction Continues, Currently Under Inspection

Construction is continuing on the $27.58 million Route 351 Koppel Bridge replacement project according to PA Department of Transportation Press Officer Steve Cowan. In addition, the current 102-year-old bridge will be under inspection through October 4th. Single-lane alternating traffic will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays as crews from the Larson Design Group conduct bridge inspection activities.
